Local Newport community councillor Vix Lowthion has been elected onto the Green Party’s national executive for the third time, stepping into the role of Internal Communications Coordinator until 2027.
She has previously served two terms as Policy Development Coordinator. In her new position, Vix will oversee party membership, websites, campaigns and internal communications for the national party.
The announcement comes in the same week the Green Party elected Zack Polanski as its new leader and confirmed that membership has reached a record 70,000.
Vix Lowthion, Internal Communications Coordinator, has said:
“I am delighted to be elected back onto the national executive in an exciting new position.
“The Green Party has always been a welcoming place and offered me so many opportunities in the last decade – both at a national level and here on the Isle of Wight. I am determined to return everyone’s confidence in me and work hard to support all our MPs, councillors and members to be equipped to make a real difference in our communities.”
Next month she will also feature at the Green Party’s autumn conference in Bournemouth, taking place between 3rd-5th October. There she will appear in her other national role as Lifelong Learning spokesperson, which she has held since 2016, contributing to a fringe event titled “Building a fairer future: the state of education today”.
