NEWPORT BOWLS CLUB ATTRACTS NEW MEMBERS THANKS TO RECENT OPEN DAY

Following a recent open afternoon – advertised on Island Echo – Newport Bowls Club has had several new members join. 

Yateley Bowls Club from the north of Hampshire recently visited the Island and played 5 Island sides, including Newport Bowls Club.

This fixture was played in the triples format of 6 rinks with mixed members. 3 rinks were won by each team, but the overall score fell in favour of Yateley: 96 to 84.

Newcomer to Newport Bowls Club, Mary Craven, playing her first full competitive game, helped her rink to a 16 to 10 victory.

Following the match, a raffle was held to aid club funds.
