A new high-end restaurant backed by a figure linked to one of the Isle of Wight’s best-known hotels has opened in Bournemouth.
The venue, called Sexy Lobster, is described as a new venture from hospitality entrepreneur Howard Spooner and chef Olivia Brinkley, whose previous experience includes Zuma and Sydney’s Tetsuya’s.
Promotional material names Howard as the owner of The George Hotel in Yarmouth. Island Echo previously reported on the financial position of the company behind the Yarmouth venue in March last year.
The new seafront restaurant focuses on premium south coast produce alongside Champagne and ‘big flavour’ dishes. The menu is said to include items such as grilled lobster with garlic, yuzu and chilli, dry aged Dorset ribeye, and truffle tagliatelle.
Back on the Island, it has been confirmed that 2-Michelin-star chef Claude Bosi has returned to The George Hotel in Yarmouth as Chef Director for a fifth season, continuing to oversee the kitchen and menus.

Yeah, whatever
I read recently that cooking lobsters was inhumane, have the rules changed already, or have they not implemented them!
Wasn’t there something dodgy about Mr Spooner at The George? Financial misconduct??
Yep!
It’s not clear who owes who what between the two articles. (This one and the previous George hotel articles) With change of ownership and unpaid suppliers and energy bills and loans.
will wait for the next episode of the story.
