A new political party launched by Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana is set to hold a public meeting in Newport this week as part of its mission to build a community-led political movement.
Temporarily named ‘Your Party’, the initiative aims to fill a perceived gap in UK politics, with its founders saying the Labour Party has shifted too far towards the centre.
The new party is promising to develop member-driven policies that prioritise public services, tackle wealth inequality and uphold an ethical approach to foreign affairs – areas where the current political establishment is accused of lacking ambition.
A key focus will be to engage local people in decision-making, with plans for grassroots-led policy development and local candidate selection, rather than top-down appointments from party headquarters.

The movement also aims to encourage younger generations to take a leading role in shaping the country’s future. Organisers point to the challenges faced by young people, including insecure housing, job instability, climate change, an ageing population and the rise of artificial intelligence.
A national conference is expected in the autumn, but supporters are already being urged to organise locally under shared values of fairness, sustainability, equality and democracy.
An open meeting will take place at 19:00 on Thursday 14th August at the Unitarian Hall, High Street in Newport. All interested residents are welcome to attend and find out more.
Over 700,000 people are reported to have signed up to the party’s mailing list so far.

Jeremy would have been the best PM we ever had,
Jeremy is anti Elite’s and is not afraid to tax the big corporations
who pay very little into the system.
Sadly Jeremy was tarnished, he is our only hope.
The Reform party are part of the establishment, all of Nigels
old cronies are being g moved in from the Tory party.
People need to wake up and smell the coffee before it’s too late.
Completely agree
So nice to see that there is another sensible person
living on this island.
And another. So far there’s 700,000 of us…more sign-ups than all the other parties put together.
Great to hear.
Jeremy unfortunetely is not pro british, he was sidelined from secret meetings because he could not be trusted to give our secrets away to any terrorist organisation who supported him, he is is beyond damaged and he now just has nuisance value. But he he is hnest in his beleifs not like all these supposed independents on the island wh would not get elected if they were hnest in saying they were hard line labour.
Now this is interesting. I kind of agree with you (kill me now). He was the most maligned British politician ever and the youth loved him. Respect. Downsides? Pro-brexit and an apologist for certain militant Middle East groups (he wasn’t anti-semitic). BUT, the inadequate Tories nicked his ideas and the Labour Party stabbed him in the back. Hey ho
Ethical politics? Supporting terrorist psychopaths?
Anyone supporting Isreal is doing that
Jeremy does not support Netanyahu , So you must be very confused
A new monster raving loony party.
No that is The Reform Party, have you seen their
voters, just look at the thugs, a bunch of uneducated
brainless football hooligans.
I am not a football hooligan, I am not a thug, I am educated, I see this country falling to pieces, mainly due to the tories and now liebour and now corbyn dribbling on about everything but the things people want. Indeed, enough is enough, of labour and of course your uneducated comments.
“dribbling on about everything but the things people want”
ahh, you’re starting to sound like that farage bloke….
Claiming to understand what is it that the ‘people’ want…
In reality; you, like him, are actually referring to what YOU want… but to satisfy your own delusion, and try to push your wishes onto others, claim that it’s what ‘the people’ want…
I agree with you that “his country falling to pieces, mainly due to the tories”,… and I agree that Labour have, unfortunately, not lived up to the promise of what they could have done to work towards making things better….
But ‘Deform’ ??…
when it comes to the Thatcherite policies that hold a lot of the responsibility of the terrible mess that our country is in,..e.g promoting absolue greed-based philosophies, where the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer to make them so… well Nigel Farage, and Deform are much worse than the Tories…
at least we still have an NHS that is ‘free’ to everybody (yes, I know its ultimately funded by the tax payer) ,. but if Reform get in topower, NF has already publicly stated that he wants to change the NHS to an American Style ‘Insurance based’ system,..(which works great if you’re rich,.. but if you’re not,.. you either get nothing, or end up paying ‘through the nose’ for it,..)
Maybe, Corbyn will be able to offer something that really is to the benefit of the general public,.. not just the Rich…
Most keyboard warriors think they look tough when they talk rubbish about people, however the truth is you look weak, because we all know you would never walk into a group of people and actually say anything for fear of a good hiding, pathetic really.
Get the twat away from here vile little shit of a man..retire you old twat give us all a break..
Don’t believe all the lies the controlled media said about
Honest Jeremy.
If you believe Reform will change things, keep dreaming.
They are just another party created by their Elite bosses
to lure in the Numpties who like what they hear and believe
it will happen.
no way would I vote for this idiot. the idiot who wants the UK to leave NATO, the idiot who wants to ban our nuclear weapons, no policies, no ideas and no way.
Peace is bliss, Jeremy would be the best thing to happen
for the UK
What good have thef other 2 parties done over the years ?????
Apart from fleece us dry.
Get ready for the shed tax, it’s coming baby.
Tell our “invaders” we would want peace, I am sure that would say “ok” and turn back. NOT!!!
He will be as welcome as a fart in a spacesuit.
Nothing wrong with a fart in a spacesuit.
Beam me up Scotty.
We dodged a bullet I’m not electing Corbyn. While his policies are all very nice and well meaning but we may as well have all learnt Russian at school as he would have left us completely vulnerable and unable to defend ourselves. A World without nuclear weapons is sadly nothing but a pipe dream and that horse has well and truly bolted! He has never lived in the real world and would have made the UK the laughing stock of the world!
He should pack it in and retire quietly and not hang about and causing trouble for others and splitting the vote!
Well intentioned but also naive and gullible.
Worked for New Zealand and many other countries. Their worlds did not end, nobody bombed them and the rest of the world regards them as peaceful, harmless. It’s like the difference between the unarmed street pastors walking the streets of Newport at night, or a group of aggressive, potentially armed geezers. Which group of people do you feel more threatened about, which group would you people would be more likely to feel the need to ‘defend’ yourself from?
Peaceful people feel no threats. Aggressive people see threats everywhere…and often find them.
The hard left will never govern this country.
The fruit and nut party will forever be a side show because outright loathing of your country is never a good look.
