The group has been set up thanks to the support and generosity of Ryde Library manager Jo Dodds, who has made a private room available for those attending.
Organisers say bereavement can be painful and traumatic in any circumstance, but losing someone to suicide can bring added challenges, including unanswered questions and feelings of guilt.
While support is now more widely available than in the past, much of it remains online. Although this works well for some, others may benefit from speaking to people face-to-face in a small and welcoming setting.
The group is open to anyone affected, whether their loss was recent or happened many years ago.
The organiser, who has worked in counselling and emotional support for more than 30 years, said they hope to help others through what can be an especially difficult time.
