A new case of coronavirus has been identified on the Isle of Wight this week, taking the running total to 431 since the start of the pandemic.
Lab tests confirmed on Tuesday (25th August) that another Islander has contracted the potentially deadly COVID-19 virus.
Public Health England figures show that since 1st July a total of 12 cases have been identified on the Island – 3 in July and 9 in August.
Although the number of confirmed cases has tripled in August vs July, it is still a relatively low number compared to the population of 140,000.

To be quite honest mate i am now beginning to think that the government are making a complete pigs ear of it and it doesnt help when the IE post that ONE more person has it, how many have contracted the flu virus this week alone on the island would be more interesting, I have also given up watching the Biased Broadcasting Companies news bulletins due to the fear mongering.

How many people have been taken into hospital this week as they are unable to get a doctors appointment . Don’t know if it is just East Cowes Medical Centre that you cannot get an appointment or even a letter sent to them has not been answered. They have a lot to answer for.

I’ve written to the Practice Manager but not had a reply either. Twice I had appointments with nurses although I never had the phone consultation. You can’t make doctor’s appointments except on the day and by the time you can get through to the surgery all the appointments are gone.
Or you can only use the online form reporting to get an appointment.
This is happening all over! Why? Well not trusting the establishment, because they lie all the time, try this. Hospital’s are now busy,a&e ,so wont belong before tv is showing this (covid) also sirens continually sounding,this again gives the impression we are in a crisis. Obviously only to sheeple. A lot of scooter riders about. And some big gatherings in ryde. Are the police going to do anything to break them up? Against the rules, rules that are in please to help us control spread and buy us time to find a vaccine. If we all ignore these rules we’ll be back in full lock down again. These rules on big gatherings are what allow us to go back to work, pop into town and have a point at the pub.
Agree with you Richard, The guys and gals who love scooters have ignored advice and arrived for the bank hols. It is worrying but the rate is low. All of us need to be careful especially if we are vulnerable. Just take special care for the next few weeks. The holiday camps are full too so be aware and protect yourself as well as others.
Oh just a quick up date on my conspiracies, I said mandatory vacations are coming, but I’m a conspiracy nutty so that won’t happen right!? What happens in America happens here. Massachusetts just made vaccines mandatory 19th August, but the best bit, they have started with children. Children as young as six months! Justice, all conspiracies have an element of truth otherwise the theories won’t stand up. It then depends on how far and under what context you want to believe them. Mandatory vaccine policies have been adopted in many countries for years, e.g. where measles outbreaks occur. I don’t necessarily agree with what Mass are doing but in my view they are trying to get ahead of the Covid v normal flu mash up that is likely to take place later in the year.
Well you go first,then I will follow,hows that! And the only mash up there will be is, flu deaths will be covid deaths. Because they want the second wave fear!

You and i can both agree that the Government management and communication of this issue has been terrible and even worse the media are lapping it up which is providing an over-inflated paranoia amongst people which i do not abide. However, your ongoing belittling insults of commenters who dare not share your belief that Covid-19 is an enabler for the Agenda 21/30 conspiracy theory is unnecessary. Just accept that everyone has the right to an opinion.
Just to correct you there,agenda 21/30 is not a conspiracy, it is indeed fact.! It’s on your liars(government) gov.co.uk site. People can believe what they want to, I am sarcastic in my approach. But I am always ready with,I told you so. Which I have used several times now. Everyone has an opinion, but some think for themselves and others repeat what they are told!
Again, it’s how you perceive it and also where personal preferences lean too. If the Government are indeed a bunch of liars, how can you possibly believe anything on their website – see the quandary you create? So, yes, you could be right, but there again you could be very wrong. It doesn’t matter where or how people get their information, the point is they have a right to believe it if you want to challenge it, just do it with a level of respect rather than mocking. Obviously they have to tell the truth on this agenda 21 as 179 other countries are involved. I’ve tried the respect way,but get none back. Well thank you,its nice to have debate, and its through debate that we get an understanding of what each others opinions are. I’ve always looked at these so called conspiracies with two things in mind. One, have they whoever’s have the ability and resources for this,and two, why and how they would benefit. If these two questions are answered, then I feel it’s time to investigate.
