Members of the NAUT Cycling Club & Race Team delivered strong performances in the Wightlink CRT ‘Misery on the Milly’ 35km Time Trial on Sunday 23rd March, with several riders achieving personal bests and securing top-10 finishes.
The event, which saw cyclists tackle the demanding Military Road course with a climb to Blackgang at the turning point, was met with favourable conditions. Warm temperatures and a light crosswind helped competitors push for strong times in what was the first major time trial of the year.
NAUT riders made their mark, with 3 competitors finishing in the overall top 10, along with category podiums and wins. Notable results included:
- Martin Piper – 54:01
- Paul Martin – 55:04
- Michael Hoare – 58:21
- Adam Greenen – 1:01:16
- James Heng – 1:01:45 (1st Junior, despite losing a crank 200 metres from the finish)
- Steve Taylor – 1:01:57
- David Barham – 1:07:49
- Annabelle Steward – 1:26:41
The picture shows a different image to the
cyclists I see on the milly road.
They are usually cycling side by side holding
each others hands.
