HM Coastguard mobilised resources to Sandown after multiple 999 calls were received about an inflatable swan drifting out to sea this afternoon (Tuesday).
Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Tean we’re called out alongside Sandown Lifeboat at 16:33.
It was reported that an inflatable with 1 person on board was some 500 metres off the beach at Yaverland.
The volunteer lifeboat crew swiftly recovered the ‘swan’ and a brief shore line search was carried out by Coastguard Rescue Officers.
All persons were confirmed to be ashore safely.
