UPDATED: Emergency services are attending a road traffic collision in Wootton this afternoon (Thursday) in which a motorcyclist has been injured.
A rapid response paramedic and Police are present at the scene on Lushington Hill at the junction with Park Road, where a motorcyclist has been involved in a collision with a vehicle. Emergency services were alerted to the incident at around 13:30.
A male motorcyclist is receiving medical attention at the roadside whilst the rapid response paramedic awaits the arrival of an ambulance crew.
It is thought the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have also attended the scene, however one appliance from Ryde has since been stood down and has returned to station.
Traffic is flowing in both directions.
UPDATE @ 15:00 – A male, thought to be a local 24-year-old, has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital by ambulance this afternoon. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
The motorcycle, an Aprilla, has been cleared off the carriageway.
Emergency services have now left the scene.
