UPDATED: Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are attending to a motorcyclist who has been injured in a crash near Carisbrooke this morning (Wednesday).
The incident, which has occurred on Middle Road between The Waverley Roundabout and Betty Haunt Lane, is said to involve a young female rider.
Witnesses say the motorcycle has gone into the rear of a car, replicating a similar incident in the same location at the beginning of the month.
The road has been closed by Police in both directions with traffic on Betty Haunt Lane said to be at a standstill as a result.
UPDATE @ 12:20 – Police have confirmed that the incident has involved a female motorcyclist, a bus and a Dacia car.
The female’s injuries are being described as ‘serious’.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
UPDATE @ 13:55 – Middle Road has now re-opened in both directions following recovery of the vehicles.
The motorcyclist has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital with minor injuries, which were first thought to be more serious.
