A man in his 60s has been taken to hospital following a collision between a motorcycle and car in Cowes this morning (Tuesday).
Police were called at around 11:10 to reports of a road traffic collision on Mill Hill Road.
Officers responded alongside the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, who tended to a male in his 60s.
The casualty was taken to St Mary’s Hospital by land ambulance as a precaution.
The road has now been cleared.

Another day another accident.
It’s about time our Roads are made safe for everyone to use.
More Cameras on Roads are required.
I was at Branston Cross yesterday and 2 cars and 1 Motorcyclist
bunked the Red Lights.
Until we issue these idiots with fines, roads will never be safe.
Thankfully everyone is ok in this accident.
Speed cameras don’t catch people jumping temporary red traffic lights. People who already break speed limits don’t care either. There’s also no mention of excessive speed in the report, in fact no mention of what caused it whatsoever.
Its not the roads thats the problem.
For some reason islanders and tourists just drive like twits. People dont know how to use a roundabout.
Just an hour ago an ambulance was coming down binstead hill, a driver in a 4×4 decided to stop in the middle of the road even though he literally just passed the bus stop just after the traffic lights
If you go to the west coast of Wales or the western Highlands in Scotland the roads are dangerous. No lighting, single track roads but people know how to drive, even at speed.
Wales have rolled out 20mph zones
I imagine the Island will follow suit, that
will solve the speeding problems on the
Island.
3 points and a fine for exceeding 20mph
Many motorists will lose their licence within
a few weeks.
Agree with you about the idiots going through red lights.
It seems to be that red lights and box junctions are seen as discretionary.
Ever driven round Naples ? Tat’s where absolutely no one takes any notice of anything. Everything is ‘optional’. Stopping at a red light is optional. Been there, it’s horrendous. Fortunately I was being driven by a local… Oh and cars carry blue lights that they stick on their roof and pretend to be an unmarked police car…
Driving in France is not for the faint hearted. Wonder why there are no deluxe French brands of cars in France? Notice how many cars in France are a bit battered? When you get to a roundabout you just go. No dithering. No waiting to see if someone else is going. You just go.
ps. Not saying I agree with it …. just saying .. observation.
Islanders have 5 seconds after red to go through the lights its the law.
What law would that be, Joe?
And parking outside Wetherspoons and Morrisons in
Union Street Ryde.
Many morons on the island do not understand the
Highway Code.
Roads are safe, it’s the idiot users/drivers who are not…
Very true Martin.
Dopes will always be dopes.
A cyclist went straight through a red at the lights by wootton Premier/Cedar pub and stopped in the middle of the crossing seemingly surprised at cars coming through. Then proceeded to cycle towards Newport in the middle of the road. Clearly pushing 70 years old this man but an absolute liability on the road.
Cyclists are idiots, does not surprise me.
All Cyclists Are SCUM!! Run Them Over With A Big Diesel 4X4!!!!!!!
The Tories destroyed the police. Driving standards will fall. So many times seen someone break the rules of the road in front of the police and they do nothing. They only react if it’s reported. Not enough to deal with all the bad driving. Often I come home from work 11pm, 50% of the time the car in front is weaving around in the road can can’t maintain a constant speed because they are either pissed or stoned. No police around ever.
