UPDATED: Brading Downs has been closed by Police this morning (Thursday) as a result of a road traffic collision.
Emergency services are currently in attendance on the highest point of the road between the Ashey Road turn off and The Mall, Brading. They were called to the scene at around 07:00.

Motorists should avoid the area for the time being.
UPDATE @ 08:30 – The occupants of 2 vehicles have escaped any serious injury in this morning’s crash, which has caused considerable damage to both vehicles.
The white Kia and a turquoise Vauxhall collided as a result of one of the vehicles losing control in the ice.
Recovery is taking place and the road is expected to re-open shortly, although motorists should proceed with caution.
Meanwhile on the other side of the Island, Police have closed Middle Road following a series of crashes. Whilst Police and ambulance crews were attending to a single vehicle collision involving a Renault, a further 2 minor crashes occurred. The road is to remain closed for the time being due to the icy conditions.
