Storm Darragh is continuing to wreak havoc across the Island this evening (Saturday) with more than 800 properties in Godshill, Sandford, Whiteley Bank and Upper Hyde currently without power.
It’s been a day of strong winds and heavy rain here on the Isle of Wight with disruption not only being caused to the Island’s utility network, but also the transport network and cross-Solent travel services.
Residents first reported the outage at around 20:10. It is believed that a total of 60 postcodes, and more than 800 properties have been plunged into darkness.
At this time Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) have not yet dispatched an engineer to the location.
