More than 100,000 people across Hampshire and Isle of Wight have taken up the offer of a free COVID-19 vaccination in the first week of the autumn campaign.
Your local NHS would like to remind you that there are still thousands of appointments available to ensure that you can get yours. You can book via the NHS website, by downloading the NHS App, or by calling 119 free if they you get online.
Since the campaign launched a week ago, thousands of eligible people have helped themselves stay one step ahead of winter respiratory illnesses by getting vaccinated. Having a flu and COVID-19 vaccination may not stop people from becoming ill but they can help keep symptoms mild.
Dr Matt Nisbet, Hampshire GP and clinical lead for vaccinations for NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight, said:
“It’s great to see such a fantastic response from people to come forward and have their vaccinations just within this first week.
“There are thousands of appointments available for both flu and COVID-19 vaccinations, including within GP surgeries, pharmacies and in midwifery services. There’s also still plenty of time to get booked in if you haven’t done so already.
“Getting vaccinated is one of the best ways to help protect yourself from becoming seriously unwell over the winter months.”
Those eligible for a flu vaccine this year include:
- Those aged 65 years and over
- Those aged 18 years to under 65 years in clinical risk groups
- Those in long-stay residential care homes
- Carers in receipt of carer’s allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person
- Close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
- Frontline workers in health and social care settings
Those eligible for an autumn COVID-19 vaccine are:
- Residents in a care home for older adults
- All adults aged 65 years and over
- Persons aged 6 months to 64 years in a clinical risk group
- Frontline health and social care workers and staff in care homes for older adults
The NHS will be sending out reminders to those eligible to get their jabs, while GP practices and other local NHS services will also be contacting people to offer the vaccines.

Really ?? after all damage done..
Exactly. I now have 3 eyes, webbed feet and 2 left nipples.
Sadly so many people have not woken up.
I read a sad story on the Mail a couple of
days ago, and he is now in bed crying and unable to
walk.
So many people have died taking the vaccines.
I’m going to take a guess that the vast majority of these were done in Care Homes etc where the residents are probably expected to be compliant.
‘Time for your medication, Mr Jones’ and in it goes.
Well I certainly won’t be having another one, after being suckered into 3 at the height of the pandemic.
We are now hearing reports of so called “unexplained” deaths, particularly in the mid fifty to sixty age range, and as I’m in this age bracket I would rather take my chance with the flu, than have another “clot shot”.
The world is de-populating by 2030
Very sad
So many people have sadly died and so many
people have been left with permanent injuries.
Over the Years when medical procedures have
caused so much harm to recipients the medical
product has been withdrawn, sadly no one is
withdrawing these procedures, I don’t know why!
I will pass, Vitamin D is a much safer option.
We all now know that we were told misinformation
about protecting others by having these vaccines
it was all a myth.
The Covid enquiry proved that.
Absolutely disgusting look at how many people are suddenly dying and how many people now have life threatening illnesses.
I’ve been in the hospital all week visiting I may add as I would never take those vaccines. Arrived quite early one day and register my car. Little Thai lady sitting on the chair next to reception asked me if I wanted the vaccine I proceeded to let her know that she is contributing to thousands of deaths and illnesses.
My father died a week after the Phizer jab,I’m sure there are many out there that can relate.
If the death certificate says catastrophic heart attack. Hello wakey wakey everyone.
Can I write the word murderer’s on here !?!? Or shall I write the word Genocide!?!?
Ps this also includes the flu jab. I hope the stroke unit has been extended for all these vulnerable people and their families that are going through misery.
2 of my relations ended up in hospital after
their boosters, they now have life changing
illnesses.
Wouldn’t want one if they paid me a Billion pound.
I bet MPs are pleased they are exempt from taking
this nonsense.
