Yet more drugs have been recovered on the coast of the Isle of Wight following the discovery of suspected cocaine at Whale Chine yesterday (Saturday).
Officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary were called at 15:55 yesterday to reports of a number of packages washing up on the shore near Whale Chine.
Officers and HM Coastguard have spent the last 24 hours on scene working to recover the class-A haul.
Police are working with the National Crime Agency (NCA), Coastguard and Border Force to recover the packages, which are believed to be cocaine.
A rendezvous point has been set up along the Military Road whilst Coastguard Officers and Police walk the beach, scouring the sand for any washed-up debris.
A spokesperson from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary have said:
“We ask that all members of the public avoid the area while we conduct our enquiries with these agencies as there is added risk due to weather conditions.”

Once again I bet we’re found by member of public. Wonder how many others found and taken away ?. Police keep telling everyone each time they don’t think anymore, yet since then almost across South around 8/10 more have been found .
Hopefully alot. i’m sure it’s good stuff

Few handy quid made in these hard times. My gas and electric bills covered for winter
Is that why you can smell drugs along Gt Preston Rd!
I sometimes wonder why Island Echo alows comments on serious subjects like this, as it nearly always gets inane comments
