UPDATED: Those returning to work and heading off the Island for the first Monday in 3 weeks face disruption this morning with the suspension of Red Jet services and strike action on Island Line trains.
Red Funnel have been operating a 1-craft, revised timetabled since last week, however, a technical issue has developed with the last remaining hi-speed vessel resulting in the service being suspended. It is unknown when the West Cowes to Southampton route will resume the revised timetable.
Meanwhile on the trains, staff are striking on Island Line today (Monday) and Wednesday.
An hourly service is in operation between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin, details of which can be found at https://www.southwesternrailway.com/plan-my-journey/rmt-strike. On Wednesday buses will replace trains.
Island Line will be operating as normal on Tuesday and Thursday.
UPDATE @ 10:29 – Red Funnel’s hi-speed Red Jet service is now back in operation, but is still running a revised timetable.
