Mobile phone users on the EE network are experiencing signal issues across the Isle of Wight today (Thursday).
Customers in the Newport, Freshwater and Ventnor areas are being affected by today’s downtime.
EE say they are aware of a service problem with some of their sites.
It’s unclear at this time if any other areas have been, or are likely to be, hit by similar problems. It’s also unknown when the issues will be resolved.
UPDATE – A spokesperson for EE has said:
“We’re aware that some customers in Freshwater, Newport and Ventnor may be experiencing intermittent connectivity due to planned upgrade works in these areas. Engineers are currently on site working to resolve this as quickly and possible.
“The upgrade will result in improved voice and data services across the Isle of Wight and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
