Search and rescue teams were tasked to help locate a missing male in Ryde during the early hours of this morning (Wednesday), with the individual eventually located in the sea.
Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team, Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team and Ryde Inshore Rescue were paged at around 02:30 to reports of a missing individual in the vicinity of Ryde Esplanade.
Police were also deployed to the area.
Coastguards conducted a search along the seafront and located the young male in the water near Ryde Harbour at around 04:00.
The man, who is thought to have been drunk, was helped ashore and transferred into the care of the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service for onward conveyance to A&E.
Lucky man that he was recovered.

What a waste of all those resources and to tie up an ambulance for possibly a couple of hours when they are in short supply people like this should be charged

Drunk. Another half wit taking up valuable resources. These people seem to get priority.
Happened to me ended up with Subarachnoid Haemorrhage ambulance refused to come as they classed it as a migraine! Ambulance crew told us when being transferred to Southampton university hospital that all they had dealt with were drunks, after getting to hospital by private car. Was in Gosport at the time!
Another thread with missing comments. Who is responsible for constantly removing comments here when there is no valid reason? Just because someone may not like something that is said in a comment, that is no reason for the comment to be removed, when there is no bad language or threats.
