Police, paramedics and firefighters have all responded to a road traffic collision in the St John’s area of Ryde this evening (Sunday), where a motorcyclist has crashed into a parked vehicle.
It was just before 19:55 that emergency services were alerted to the incident on St John’s Wood Road.
2 ambulance crews and an operational commander are on scene, alongside a single fire appliance from Ryde – thought to be in the interests of scene safety.
Island Echo is told that the motorcyclist has escaped with minor injuries despite ploughing into the back of a parked Renault Trafic van.
The motorcycle has already been removed from the scene.

Not surprised the last couple of nights there have been a couple of people riding up west hill road with no lights on
2 ambulances and an operational commander for a single vehicle accident? I thought the NHS were short of staff.
St John’s Wood Road is a very narrow Road and many vehicles
park like sh*t, it was only a matter of time there was an accident.
Large Van’s should not be parked along such roads.
A Car Park should be made available for such vehicles
Seen 3 riders out on Sunday afternoon going from Ryde to Newport weaving in and out of traffic revving their bikes up at ever set of traffic lights riding along with their legs out straight in front of them and riding no handed.
So i take it you have been to Specsavers then
Been doing that for over a year now, cops don’t care. Their bikes are also illegal. One of their mates already ended up in hospital. Maybe the police will do something when one dies or they kill someone.
‘Minor injuries’?
But, how many emergency vehicles?
