The Met Office is warning that heavy and potentially thundery showers are expected to cross the Isle of Wight tomorrow (Tuesday).
From late Tuesday morning the showers will start to develop in the region and although some areas may miss the worst of the rain, the heaviest showers could bring 2-3 hours of rainfall.
Up to 25mm of rain could fall within just an hour – and 40mm within 3 hours – prompting a yellow weather warning to be issued covering the period of 11:00 until 21:00.
Furthermore, forecasters have issued a second weather warning with heavy showers likely to persist for much of Wednesday. The warning is in force from 00:05 until 23:55 on Wednesday, with the heaviest of the rain becoming confined to the extreme southeast towards the end of the day.
Motorists could face disruption with localised flooding of roads.
