The 3rd Gordon Endler memorial charity ride, which raises money for 2 local Air Ambulance charities – Hampshire & Isle of Wight and Dorset & Somerset – will be held next weekend (9th July).
This year’s ride will take place takes place on 9th July, meeting from midday for a 12:30 departure, but it has a new start point.
Pit-Stop Motorcycle Training has kindly lent their premises for the start of the ride. They have recently moved to Wellington Road, Newport – in the carpark of the old, now-demolished, Christ the King College (Trinity Middle) site.
Held in memory of Gordon Endler, a popular local biker who died in a road traffic incident in July 2020. The ride is led by Gordon’s son, Joe, and organised by Jon Flexi and Pippa Ellis of Solent 1990’s Sportsbikes.
His partner, Jacqui Stannett, was on the back of the bike, and survived thanks to the Air Ambulance lifting her direct to Southampton General Hospital.
All bikers who wish to support the ride are welcome, and if any non-bikers wish to support the charity, there will be volunteers from the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance at the start point, with collection tins will be carried throughout the route.
You can meet the riders when they take breaks at Freshwater Bay and Blackgang Viewpoint, or when they reach the finish point at Vincent’s Motorcycles in Chapel Lane, Merstone.

Such a shame that theses roads and cars still take lives years later.
Nothing wrong with the roads it those that use them. Everyone needs to slow down and think how can they make their journey as safe as possible.
