The Isle of Wight’s 12-year-old Isabelle Berners and 11-year-old Ellora Jones won numerous podium places in the South Regional Preparation and Development Finals on Sunday (27th April).
Both girls had qualified earlier in the year at Hampshire grades and subsequently won places at the finals.
Ellora competed in Development 2 and improved her scores on every apparatus from her grade’s competition with a very impressive overall score of 61.2, improving on her previous overall score by nearly two 2 points.
She had some strong competition, with gymnasts qualifying from gymnastics clubs from all over the South region. However, she managed to walk away with an overall podium position of 3rd.

Vault – 4th
Beam 1st
Overall – 3rd
Isabelle competed in Disability Development 3. She had a very confident and successful afternoon with huge improvements in her scores. Her coaches were particularly impressed with the improvements shown with both her floor routine and vault.

R&C – 1st
Overall 1st
Ellora and Isabelle travel to the mainland 3 times a week to train, alongside eleven-year-old Indie Orchard., which wouldn’t be possible without the help from their Sponsors Wightlink Ferries.
