Tim and Emma Foster, who have run Godshill’s The Taverners for the last 5 years, are to step down next month.
Taking to their Facebook page this afternoon, the husband and wife pair have said they have made the ‘difficult’ decision to decide not to renew their lease, citing the want to be there for their 3 sons as they navigate high school as a contributing factor.
Located on High Street in the village, the eatery is well known for its locally sourced food, fine wine and beers.
Previously Tim and Emma ran what used to be the Three Buoys above Appley Café on Ryde seafront. The pair ran both the Ryde-based restaurant as well as the Godshill pub at the same time before giving up the Three Buoys to put all their effort into running The Taverners.
Tim and Emma have said:
“Running The Taverners and before that the Three Buoys has been an incredible journey filled with amazing friendships and unforgettable memories.
“We are truly grateful for the support of everyone over the years.”
Tim and Emma’s final day will be Saturday 5th October for lunch service. All booked tables, quiz nights, and Christmas party reservations beyond 5th October, will all remain as scheduled.
