2 men have been arrested – 1 of whom was reported to be carrying a hammer – after a public order incident at the ferry terminal in Cowes this afternoon (Monday).
Police were called to a report of a public order incident at the Red Jet terminal just before 15:30 and arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
1 of the 2 men was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug and both remain in custody at this time.

Sick of all this drug fuelled violence! Whilst getting the Cowes floating bridge on Saturday, two guys openly sniffing cocaine and laughing, what is going on!!

If you fracture your skull at the age of eight years old and endup in hospital for six months, not knowing who your own family are, and starting your schooling all over again. Perhaps you would have more things to worry about than my spelling….However, I’ve never claimed benefits or had a criminal record, and my home is paid for in full, it took me 25 years of hard work without holidays abroad or going to restaurants….I know my spelling isn’t good, but I feel I can hold my head up high….

I was brought up extremely strict by my parents on manners, discipline and etiquette, when I attended school there was no christian names, the teachers called you by your surname and you called the teacher sir or madame, you were brought up to respect authority and your elders, as a child I had to address my parents friends and other parents by their surname only and I was told by my parents that you can only use their christian name when they tell you to, I can honestly say that I’m extremely grateful to my parents for bringing me up the way they did, because it made me the person I am today, who still respects old-fashioned values, especially manners, which do still maketh man, they do today and they always will, you are lesser without.

Easy solution here anyone with a weapon on the streets gets 15years+….that’s a deterrent. No one has any regard for life….until it’s too late. A fist fight is what happened in our day. Only cowards carry knives etc then cry in jail how remorseful they are. Each one of these people have a mother, father, grandmother, grandfather , bro, sister etc carrying hammers?? Hard?? I think it’s terrible and the police need a zero policy of weapons before it’s too late and teenagers, elderly can’t go out anymore..the buses, the towns at night it’s ruining it for everyone. Knives, hammers, machetes it’s got to be stamped out NOW. ZERO policy, deterrent.
