Man Vs Fat Football Isle of Wight have been working hard over this festive season to bring children at our local hospital something sweet.
Man Vs Fat football clubs from Cowes and Sandown have worked together with friends and families to donate chocolate selection boxes to the Paediatric Emergency Department at St. Mary’s; The aim, creating a more enjoyable experience for our island’s young people when visiting the hospital over this festive season.
Different to other weight loss organisations, MVF centres its self around the beautiful game, with there a total of 2 Island-based clubs that help men loose weight and achieve a healthier lifestyle.
To encourage healthy choices players aim to gain bonus goals for their teams with their weekly weight loss. These goals are combined with the score from a weekly small sided match to reveal the overall result that affects the league. Since starting on the IOW, MVF have helped Island men have lost over 2 tonnes.
Although most of the men at MVF will be sensible with their chocolate intake this Christmas, they wanted to do something to celebrate their journeys and support their local communities.
As well as individual contributions from MVF players donations were also received from local businesses; JD construction, LR’s Hair Salon, Staff from Fairlee Garage, staff from Bookers (Cowes) and staff from Jewsons.
Due to everyone’s generosity more than 600 chocolate boxes were delivered to St. Mary’s by a number of MVF Members on Thursday morning (12th December).
