A motorcyclist killed in a road traffic collision on Briddlesford Road last week has been named as 58-year-old David Rann from Niton.
It was last Tuesday (29th July) afternoon that Mr Rann and his wife – who was a pillion on the Kawasaki motorcycle – were travelling along Briddlesford Road, Wootton when they were involved in a collision with a Ford Kuga outside Briddlesford farm.
Sadly, David Rann – a cleaner at Niton Primary School – was pronounced dead at the scene. His 53-year-old wife has been left with life-changing injuries, as previously reported by Island Echo.
A Home Office post-mortem conducted at St Mary’s Hospital Mortuary on Friday has concluded the cause of death as multiple injuries.
An inquest into the death was opened at the Isle of Wight Coroner’s Court in Newport this afternoon (Wednesday) and has been adjourned to a later date.
