HM Coastguard was called out to Fishbourne earlier this afternoon following reports of a male in the water.
Teams from Bembridge and Ventnor mobilised at 14:17 and made their way to the far end of Fishbourne Lane.
The individual – and 3 others- were led to safety and passed into the care of the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, who had mobilised a number of ambulances and an officer to the scene.
Bembridge RNLI Lifeboat was also tasked to the incident but was stood down.
