A man, who was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill and attempted grievous bodily harm with intent following an incident at a holiday park in Shanklin on Sunday evening (23rd March), has been bailed until June.
Police were called at 19:10 to what has been described as a ‘domestic incident’ at Lower Hyde Holiday Park, on Landguard Road.
Officers descended on the family park and assessed the circumstances of the serious incident. They remained on scene for over 2 hours. Island Echo understands that the situation centred around a caravan with a woman and children inside, with threats made.
At the scene, officers arrested a 49-year-old man on suspicion of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, threats to kill, and affray.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has since confirmed that he has been bailed until 23rd June.
