14-YEAR PRISON SENTENCE FOR FRESHWATER MAN WHO RAPED 3-YEAR-OLD GIRL
Share on FacebookShare on X

A man arrested in connection with the rape of a 3-year-old girl at Fort Victoria Country Park in Yarmouth on Monday has been bailed until 28th September, Police have confirmed.

Hampshire Constabulary’s investigation into the incident, which happened in broad daylight on Bank Holiday Monday, continues.

A 60-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of carrying out the serious sexual offence and detectives were given an extra 24 hours to question him. However, the decision has been taken to release him from custody on bail – with conditions – pending further enquiries.

Article continues below this advertisement

Superintendent Sarah Jackson, District Commander for the Isle of Wight, said:

“Detectives investigating this offence have been working tirelessly and will continue to do so.

“I would like to once again thank the community for their ongoing support, feedback and assistance with our enquiries. Please continue to call us with any information you have that could help, we still think there could have been other people in the park who haven’t yet come forward.

“Incidents such as this are very rare, but I am asking parents and guardians to be vigilant when children are playing outdoors and children are asked to look out for each other and avoid talking to strangers. I would urge you to report anything suspicious immediately to 101.

Article continues below this advertisement

“We will be working with partner agencies to ensure this advice is shared as widely as possible.

“I also wanted to respond to some of the general comments we have had from the public about personal safety with some advice that is relevant for anyone.

• If you have a mobile phone, keep it charged
• Let someone know where you are going
• Stay with friends
• Work out how you are going to get home in advance”

Anyone with information about the incident in Fort Victoria Country park is urged to contact 101 quoting Operation July.

Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111, or via their anonymous online form at crimestoppers-uk.org

Can only hope some real ‘men’ not keyboard warriors, find this cretin and ask their own questions and extract the truth, saving Police time and money in getting a confession after hours or questioning, perhaps he would ‘open up’ more to local guys rather than the formal Police.

That’s worrying, did they take DNA from the suspect??

The serious nature of this case should not warrant bail until the police are 100% sure it’s not their man..

I imagine that the police hands are tied, as far as I know they are allowed to hold a suspect for 24 hours, then they have to ask the CPS if they can charge, it would appear that the CPS have said no at this juncture but granted them a further 24 hours. It all depends on evidence and whether the CPS believe they would get a prosecution if charged. I am guessing that there is not enough concrete evidence yet to guarantee a prosecution hence the police had to bail and are desperately appealing for potential witnesses to build a strong case.

Stuff the CPS! Child abuse has been ignored for decades in this stincking country for decades, Rotherham comes to mind among other earias.

The CPS is not fit for purpose, we need a radical change in this country and fast, like getting rid of far left liberal judge’s and lawyers, along with some media…BBC comes to mind…

Surely there is dna on this poor child. If it’s from this man,how can he possibly be let out !!! and what is wrong with this country and its justice system.Always the scum criminal comes first and their rights.Never the poor victim. If he’s found guilty with dna evidence I pray he will get his justice not from this pathetic legal system, but from elsewhere

Unfortunately there is no charge sheet due to lack of evidence at this stage to pass the threshold to charge! The CPS will only charge if the evidence is strong enough to have a realistic chance of conviction. Therefore the police had no alternative than to bail the suspect until hopefully further substantive evidence is obtained to allow the CPS to make a charging decision. The Police acted diligently and positively to the information provided but now have to gain extra evidence either through forensic submission or witness accounts and any dash cam/ camera footage on the day in question ,that the public have been asked to assist with that might progress the case. So highly emotive and worrying that an alleged suspect is bailed but this was the only legal course available to the police. If the suspect was charged with minimal evidence then there is a high likelihood that the suspect would be found not guilty at a later date . Due to the age of the victim in this case more substantive evidence is required to charge a suspect and allow the Police to progress the already disturbing case. Thoughts go to the child and family at this difficult time.

What human being could not be gut-wrenchingly affected by this, I felt physically sick to think this vile creature only thought of his own needs & ruined the poor little child’s life, 3 years old & we have let that poor angel down with a wicked paedophile. I can only hope he gets what’s coming to him & causes him great pain like that poor child must have felt, I am sick of Society now & feel disgusted that we can let this monster the luxury of being bailed ? Oh it might be a good thing if they knew where in Freshwater he lives B…..d

How many more children’s lives can this disgusting man destroy, how many times can he get away with it!
A 3 year old! What kind of being could do this.
What are we meant to do when these people live among us?
I know who he is and where he lives. He’s done it before but not enough evidence to convict him.
How are we meant to keep our children safe, do we lock them in so no one can harm them!
How are the little innocent girl and her family going to be able to cope?
OMG.

There appear to be a number of people on here that seem to know who this pervert is, but seem terribly worried that they might get into ‘trouble’ if they named him..
– Well, what do you think might happen to you if you did ?
At least warn other families to be careful in such and such an estate, or give us a road name at least.
– For we are not all ‘in the know’..

DNA takes days to process.
If he wasn’t caught in the act there won’t be enough evidence to charge him. Remember, we’re all innocent until PROVEN guilty. Many cases of police getting it wrong and the real culprit being free to offend again.
Check out the murder of Rachel Nickel. Her killer was free to murder again because police refused to believe they had the wrong man.

I’d never let a child that age or even older go in public toilets on their own. You never know who’s in there. It’s a well known fact these sick paedos are in them.

Why on earth has he been released on bail this is a very serious sickening offence ,he should be in stocks so normal people can throw bricks at him , it beggars belief I seriously hope when he goes to prison he meets some big burly father who loves his children to bits .

In episodes of Porridge they might, in real life, more protected than the Queen now. Just an urban myth to stop people doing something themselves, and to make those too gutless to do anything themselves ‘feel better’

When serving in Northern Ireland, the RUC would often release this type of person knowing the IRA would impose their own type of punishment on them . Knowing the British justice system it geared to aid the criminal, not the victims.
Trust me.. it works well.

If they have bailed him,it’s because of collecting DNA.He could of been a innocent bloke out walking and he’s come across this poor distraught child and he’s found the parents and they put two and two together so the police have to arrest him until DNA proves otherwise.

Innocent until proven guilty. We either accept that or we don’t but that’s the way it’s worked for longer than any of us have been alive. I hope, if the guy is guilty, that he gets everything he deserves but you can’t go around taking justice into you own hands because whether the cause is just or noble, you become the criminal.

None of us can or should interfere in the legal process.

What we can do is discuss how some monster was able to get so close to a child to be able to molest her. Was this down to a parent not taking enough care or was there some other circumstance that facilitated this hideous crime?

We all know there are are animals out there who prey on our children, we will never be truly free of them so the alternative is to take more car and stop them getting near our children.

I wish people would stop calling him an animal . Animals behave better than this vile person. She wasn’t just molested she was raped according to the reports and who knows how it happened but believe me those parents will never forgive themselves if they were distracted for a few seconds. They will live with this for the rest of their lives as will the poor girl. Anyone who has kids will know it’s happened to all of us just a second you turn away and they can disappear and it’s the worst moment of your life and thank god for most people they are safe. We must not condemn them until more is known of the circumstances. Please blame the vile person who did this not the family trying to deal with it.

I’m concerned as knowing of this man and previous history of these offences. He lives on my estate full of children. It is shocking he is out on bail, I hope not at his home. X

Why have real men not spoken to him about this then? Don’t understand why ? Surely all on the estate are not so squeaky clean and trusting in the British legal system not to have discussed their feelings to this creep?

Well, if you are so unwilling to name him, at least say which estate in Freshwater. Parents need to be made aware and young people warned of the danger.
– That would be helping to protect them.
We have freedom of speech in this country, so stop worrying about it..

What is most worrying is that so many are ready to carry out ‘justice’ just because someone has been accused of a crime. Maybe you should wait till he has been found guilty. After that fill ya boots.

Spot on but doubt many will understand the point sadly. The instant justice brigade mean well but act on outrage and impulse. Seen many an innocent have their lives destroyed by baying mobs who had no idea what the truth actually was.

Instant justice brigade!! Are you for real!! This disgusting human being is well known for his perverted behaviour. It goes way back, he’s only been released because yet again his wife has given a false alibi as she does every time. He was arrested within a mile of the crime scene, there is nothing innocent about that !!

Well known? I’ve not heard of him and his wife could be telling the truth. I’m sure there were other people within a mile of the crime scene too. I am totally for real. Just applying logic in my mind rather than grabbing a pitchfork on the sayso of anonymous posters here. I hope whoever did this is strung up but I also hope it’s the right person they charge.
