An arrest has been made by Police in Ryde this afternoon (Wednesday) following reports of a male with a knife on the Esplanade.
Officers responded to the seafront at just before 14:00 after reports were received of a man spotted in possession of a penknife.
A man and woman were stopped and questioned close to the Superbowl complex and a knife recovered.
One male was arrested – but not handcuffed – and taken to Newport Police Station for questioning.
