A power cut has left nearly 700 customers in Cowes without electricity this afternoon (Monday).
The outage was first logged at just after 15:00 and has left customers – both domestic and commercial – without power.
A total of 44 PO31 postcodes are affected. Island Echo understands that national chain supermarket Aldi has temporarily closed.
It is understood that Scottish and Southern Electricity Network (SSEN) engineer is on the way. To keep track of the outage status, visit the SSEN website here.

UPDATE @ 15:30 – An engineer has arrived on site and is working to fix the issue. It is hoped that power can be restored by 20:30 at the latest.
