MAJOR ENGINEERING WORKS GET UNDER WAY ON ISLAND LINE

TIMETABLE: Major work to repair the railway embankment near Sandown is getting under way today (Monday), resulting in the suspension of Island Line services between Ryde St Johns and Shanklin until 20th March.

During the works a rail replacement bus service will run between Shanklin Station, Lake (High Street), Sandown (Broadway), Brading (Bullring) and Ryde St Johns Station. Meanwhile a revised train service will operate between Ryde St Johns Road, Ryde Esplanade and Ryde Pier Head. Smallbrook Junction will not be served during this time.

Rail ticket holders will also be able to use Southern Vectis Route 2 and 3 service buses between Ryde and Shanklin in both directions, however cycles cannot be carried on the replacement bus services.

Additional coach services will also run on school days only for the benefit of schoolchildren.
