A van driver has had a lucky escape after a tree fell onto the carriageway on Brading Downs earlier this afternoon (Thursday).
Traffic came to a halt on the road between Brading and Knighton when the tree came crashing down at around 12:20.
Island Echo understands a skip lorry clipped the tree, resulting in a large section breaking off.
Debris was spread across the road but no one was injured in the incident.
