An exclusive 5-course dining experience showcasing the best of Isle of Wight produce is being brought to Cowes, as The Price Is Wight teams up with In House Chef for 2 special events at the Island Sailing Club.
The first event, the ‘Taste the Island’ Supper Club, takes place on Friday 24th April and will see guests enjoy a 5-course tasting menu created by Head Chef Matt Egan.
Priced at £59.50 per person, the evening will begin with arrivals from 18:00, before dinner is served from 18:30 in the waterfront surroundings of the Island Sailing Club.
The menu has been designed to highlight local ingredients, with dishes including crispy pork belly with apple and thyme chutney, torched mackerel with greengage chutney and sea herbs, and honey beef fillet served with plum jam, Roscoff onion and asparagus.
Desserts complete the experience, featuring apricot and raspberry, followed by a dark chocolate and cherry dish.
The menu has been developed in collaboration with Island suppliers, including The Butcher’s Shop in Cowes and Godshill Orchards.
A second event, the Taittinger Champagne Experience, is set to follow on Friday 29th May, offering a 3-course dining experience paired with a guided champagne tasting.
Tickets are priced at £89.00 per person, with guests welcomed from 18:00 ahead of dinner at 18:30.
The evening includes a glass of Taittinger Brut Reserve Champagne on arrival, followed by a hosted tasting led by Taittinger Brand Ambassador Simon Evetts.
The 3-course menu features an Isle of Wight tomato salad with heritage tomatoes, wasabi aioli and honey burrata, followed by surf and turf with 200g fillet steak from The Butcher’s Shop in Cowes alongside wild garlic butter prawns, asparagus and potato salad.
Dessert is a champagne and strawberries dish, combining strawberry textures, champagne sorbet, honeycomb and basil.
Both events will be held at the members-only Island Sailing Club, with access granted exclusively to ticket holders for the evening.
