5 Isle of Wight gymnasts are set to compete in the Southern Regional Finals next month following an outstanding performance at the Hampshire County Grades. Legacy Elite Gymnastics Academy took 9 girls over to the mainland earlier this month, with the whole cohort passing their grades with flying colours. But Megan, Skye, Isabelle, Beaudi and Daisy have qualified for the finals, which will take place in April. 8-year-old Daisy’s performance in Preperation 2, her first ever grading was notably strong as she went up against gymnasts as old as 12 to place 6th overall (and 5th in her age category) out of 89 competitors. Elsie, also 8 years old and competing in Preparation 2, performed stunning routines with a smile on her face throughout. Sadly, she missed out on a place in the finals by just 0.6, but her 21st place overall was impressive as she too went up against gymnasts aged 8-12. Shannon Betts, of Legacy Elite, says:

- Ellora- Beam 4th, Range and Conditioning 2nd – Overall 6th – Working Above
- Indie – Floor 5th – Overall 7th – Working Above
Development Grade 2
- Alesha- Vault 6th, Range and Conditining 6th – Overall 18th – Working Above
- Beaudi- Vault 4th, Bars 3rd, Beam 6th, Floor 4th, Range and Conditining 5th – Overall 4th – Working Beyond
