UPDATED: A collision between a pick-up and a motorcycle is causing delays on The Downs between Ryde and Newport this morning (Wednesday).
Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash near to the junction with Knighton Shute at shortly before 08:40, when a motorcycle collided with the side of a Toyota Hilux pick-up truck.
One fire appliance from Newport is in attendance at the scene alongside Police and paramedics. No one is thought to have been seriously injured.
Traffic is heavy in both directions. Motorists are advised to find an alternative route.
UPDATE: A 28-year-old man and a 50-year-old man have been arrested by Police as part of an ongoing investigation into a series of collisions in the Bembridge and St Helens area this morning.
The black pick-up truck pictured above was stopped by Police on The Downs after being reported to be involved in a number of collisions around 30 minutes earlier, alongside a white Ford Transit which has since been located by Police in Sandown.
The two individuals are being questioned by Police at Newport Police Station.
It was initially reported that a motorcycle had been involved in a collision with the black pick-up, however that has since been confirmed as not being the case.
