UPDATED: The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are attending a kitchen fire at Olivo restaurant in Newport this morning (Friday).
Two appliances and an aerial ladder appliance are in attendance on Pyle Street, where a fire has broken out in the kitchen of the popular Italian restaurant.
Crews – who were called to the scene at 10:30 – are currently using a hose reel to bring the fire under control.
All staff have evacuated safely from the premises.
UPDATE @ 11:00 – The fire, thought to be located in an upstairs kitchen, has been extinguished by firefighters.
The building is now being ventilated.
