In a brief ceremony at Ventnor Rugby Club on Saturday (15th October), members of the late John Adams’ family handed over a £4,000 cheque to Jax Jones, the Communications Manager at Mountbatten.
The money was raised through a combined effort between the rugby club and Mountbatten on 3rd September when Ventnor staged a match against the Isle of Wight Barbarians side in memory of John Adams, whose contribution to the Ventnor club cannot be understated.
