Island scooter star Joe Crockett has achieved his goal of getting the funds to be able to compete for Great Britain in the upcoming World Skate games in Argentina.
Joe raised an amazing £1,133 from his GoFundMe page, received a £500 Community Grant from Freshwater Parish Council and also a very generous sponsorship from Gnars via Sam Mason de Caires to get him to Argentina.
Joe flies out to Argentina at the end of the month and will be competing at the event in Buenos Aires and San Juan over the following week
Joe has said:
“Thank you so much to everyone who has helped me to raise enough money to go to The World Skate Games in Argentina. It has been my dream since I first started scootering and it means so much. I would especially like to say a big thank you to GNARS DAO for all their help and funds and to Freshwater Parish Council for their grant too. I can’t wait to go”.
Heather Rowell, Clerk to Freshwater Parish Council, has said:
“At the Freshwater Parish Council meeting on 4th October the Councillors were delighted to agree to sponsor Joe Crockett to attend the World Skate Games in Argentina. It is the first time that scootering has been involved and we are very proud that a Freshwater lad has this amazing opportunity to represent United Kingdom and we wish him every success”.
