UPDATED: The hunt for missing Joanna Orpin has entered a third day, with HM Coastguard and Police conducting a shoreline search of the beach at Yaverland this morning (Thursday).
42-year-old Joanna, from Ryde, hasn’t been seen or heard from since Tuesday morning. She is understood to have visited the Premier Store on Marlborough Road in Ryde at 07:20 before driving to Culver. Her car, a black Audi, was found in a car park at 10:00.
A major search of the area involving boats, helicopters and around 50 people was carried out in horrendous weather conditions throughout Tuesday, but failed to locate Joanna. An appeal was launched by Police on Tuesday night and renewed on Wednesday.
Now, 48 hours after the first search began, teams are combing the beach between Yaverland and the eastern foot of Culver in the hope of discovering clues as to what has happened to Joanna.
Anyone with any information relating to this case is asked to contact Police on 101.

An incoming tide is forcing Coastguard Officers back towards Red Cliff and Yaverland but the search very much continues.
