An Island man has been jailed for 18 months after attempting to rob a bookmakers in Cowes at the tail end of 2014.
As exclusively reported by Island Echo back in December, a man went into Ladbrokes on the High Street before attempting to steal money from the cash tills. Thankfully, the would-be robber made off without any money.
Now, just 2 months later, 46-year-old David Higgs has been sent to prison for a total of one-and-a-half years after being found guilty of attempted robbery.
Mr Higgs handed himself into Police before being charged with the offence.
