IW Met Service has issued a special festival forecast, predicting that the recent hot spell will continue for the start of the festival before giving way to more unsettled weather later in the weekend.
In a statement on their website, they said:
“After a hot start to the festival, things look like becoming cooler and much more unsettled later on Saturday night and into Sunday.”
Article continues below this advertisement “Throughout Sunday it seems likely that we will see showery spells of rain, some of which may be torrential with the risk of thunder.”
“We will be keeping a close eye on the conditions as it may be rather problematic at times, so please check back for further updates over the coming days. We will update this forecast again on Friday.”
What a surprise. Hot weather in summer hardly a news story. Whatever next cold weather in winter maybe?
Can’t really see any sense in your comment, this news story is to do with the festival which is an outdoor event, the weather is of interest to those attending, whether you. are interested in the Festival or not, this has become a large part of the Island, further more reference is made to the possibility of heavy rain. I for one would be interested if attending to know how to prepare with regard to the weather.

Private helicopters back and forth from the mainland, roads gridlocked around Newport and through Wootton. Cars travelling from all parts of the UK. Where are the Extinction rebellion/Just stop oil etc protesters? Could it be that they are all at the festival and enjoying themselves? Double standards?
