17-year-old Isle of Wight scooterist Joe Crockett has secured 3rd place at the European Scooter Championships, held in Norway last weekend, as he continues to build a strong international reputation in the sport.
Joe, from Freshwater, has been scootering since the age of 6 and now rides with the Chilli Scooters team. He will next travel to Japan to compete in the World Championships, representing both his team and the Isle of Wight on the global stage.
This is not Joe’s first major achievement. In 2022, he came 4th in the Junior Scootering Park Event at the World Skate Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he competed against athletes up to 18 years old. In 2023, he again placed 3rd at the European Finals in Thuringia, Germany, qualifying for the World Championships held in Sydney, Australia.
Joe has consistently earned his place on the international circuit by competing in recognised regional and national qualifiers. His journey has taken him to Argentina, Australia, Germany and France.
Joe remains committed to giving back to the local community and regularly offers free scootering tuition at Freshwater skatepark alongside John Cattle from Wight Trash.
