A trio of determined triathletes will take on a gruelling swim, cycle and run at Stromness Harbour in Orkney next week.
The Isle of Wight Triathlon team consists of just 3 members; Chris Trill, Henry Morgan and Darren Cole. Simon Pilcher will manage the team.
Orkney’s Triathlon course will consist of a 1,500m swim followed by a 40km cycle and a 10km run.
There are medals on offer in the Men’s Individual, Women’s Individual, Men’s Team and Women’s Team events.
The Isle of Wight’s only Triathlon Gold medal was won by Chris Volley back in Guernsey in 2003. Volley also secured the Isle of Wight’s only other Triathlon medal at the previous Island Games held on the Isle of Man in 2001 when he claimed Bronze.
Men’s and Women’s triathlons were included in the Games for the first time in 2001.
The Triathlon will take place on Sunday 13th July at Stromness Harbour.
