Three photographs taken in Cowes by Isle of Wight photographer Clive Blount have gone on display at a national maritime exhibition.
The images, captured during this summer’s prestigious Richard Mille Cup, have been selected for inclusion in the National Historic Ships Photography Exhibition, currently on show at the Chatham Historic Dockyard in Kent.
The annual exhibition, curated by National Historic Ships UK, celebrates the very best in maritime photography from across the country — showcasing the ships, people and coastal settings that make up the UK’s historic maritime landscape.
Clive’s selected photographs focus on the dramatic elegance of the classic sailing yachts that competed in the Richard Mille Cup as they passed through the Solent, with Cowes once again providing a stunning backdrop to the international regatta.
The Richard Mille Cup has fast become one of the highlights of the Cowes sailing calendar, attracting elite historic yachts from across Europe and beyond. The selection of Clive’s images not only reflects his growing profile as a maritime photographer, but also reinforces Cowes’ global reputation as a centre for classic yachting.
Islanders can view Clive’s images and the rest of the exhibition online via the National Historic Ships UK website.
