Cats Protection Isle of Wight is urging cat owners to take advantage of a limited stock of subsidised neutering vouchers, ready to claim before the end of the year.
The charity’s neutering vouchers are excellent value for money, providing £50 for a male and £80 for a female cat towards the procedure, delivering a significant saving on the average price of the procedure. Kittens must be aged at least four months to be neutered.
Neutering is vital for cat health and welfare. It not only prevents unplanned pregnancies in females but can make males less likely to fight and contract diseases.
Unneutered cats are also more likely to roam, putting them at greater risk of road accidents and other dangers.
Jo Morrison, Isle of Wight Cat Centre Deputy Manager, said:
“Neutering is one of the most important things you can do for your cat. It helps prevent unwanted litters and protects cats from harm.
“Our subsidised vouchers make it more affordable for Island cat owners. But we have only a finite amount, so we encourage anyone eligible to apply before Christmas.”

To qualify for a voucher, applicants must provide the charity with proof of eligibility:
- Resident on the Isle of Wight
Receive a means-tested benefit or a household working income of less than £25,000
Once eligibility is confirmed, vouchers will be valid for 3 months and can be redeemed at Pet Doctors in their surgeries across the Island.
To apply for a voucher, call Cats Protection Isle of Wight Cat Centre on Ryde 03000 12025.
