Thousands of people descended on Ryde seafront on Sunday to enjoy this year’s Isle of Wight Armed Forces Day, which offered fun for all the family.
Low-level cloud meant the iconic Red Arrows display was reduced to a ‘flat’ display, but their high-octane manoeuvres impressed the gathered crowds.
Spirits remained high throughout the day, especially as the weather improved, with visitors enjoying arena displays, military vehicle exhibitions and live music.
Highlights of the day included the Royal Navy’s parachute display team, as well as the RAF Falcons parachute display team. There was also a flypast by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

The parade and salute were once again well attended, with a round of applause given to those who have served King and Country.
