The Isle of Wight has been ranked the 2nd best destination for wild swimming in the country, with 3 seaside locations on the Island ranking in the top 10! A study by UK Saunas was inspired by a recent survey from the Outdoor Swimming Society that found an astonishing 7.5million Brits enjoy swimming outdoors, including seas and rivers, and 89% of Brits have 1 to 10 swim spots on their doorstep. It’s been found that the Isle of Wight is the 2nd area to consistently appear in the top 10 rankings with Sandown, Shanklin and St Helens all featuring in the Top 10 destinations to swim in the sea. However, Cornwall has been crowned the overall best seaside destination for wild swimming, with the top 5 towns or villages in the ranking all based in the county.

Don’t go by that web site. Southern water release waste water more often than you think. Trust me on that…
‘wild swimming’?
I assume that simply means swimming in the sea? So, no surprise that the most popular places for swimming in the sea are…places that have beaches. And it needed a study and a survey to work that out?
“Wild Swimming”?
Who comes up with this nonsense…
I can’t swim but I go through the motions!
“Are you taking the piss”? Caulkhead humour is something Gen Zs don’t get.

“WILD SWIMMING”
This is naked swimming.
I remember it being called ‘Skinny dippin’, a frequent occurrence in the ’80s after leaving Bogies after 01:00 am.
Swimming amongst the turds. Lovely.
Strange that Cowes was not included, oh I forgot it’s the worst beach in the UK for sewage pollution!
