Joe Robertson MP is hosting the East Wight Jobs, Training and Careers Fair in Sandown next month (Friday 17th April), bringing together local employers and education providers to help Islanders find job opportunities, training routes and possible new career paths.
The event will be held at the Broadway Centre, with doors open to the public from 15:00 to 17:30.
It is aimed at people of all ages, from young people thinking about their future to adults looking for a new direction, extra training or a return to work.
A range of local organisations and employers are attending, offering advice and information on jobs, apprenticeships, skills and training.
Those due to be there include ferry operators, Southern Water, Community Action, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary, Visit Isle of Wight and HTP Apprenticeship College.
Joe Robertson MP said:
“Creating more opportunities for Islanders is one of my top priorities as the MP for Isle of Wight East. This fair is about helping people of all ages find out what local opportunities are out there, whether that is a first job, an apprenticeship, a training course, or a completely new direction.
“It is just as important to talk about retraining and opportunity in mid-life as it is to support younger people starting out. Many people want to build new skills, change career, return to work or take on a fresh challenge, and events like this can help connect them with the right employers and training providers.”

Makes one wonder where the Jobs are coming from!
It is amazing the amount of jobs that could easily be replaced
by A.I especially many shirking from home NHS staff jobs.
Being paid money for nothing, reminds me of a Dire Straits song.
