St Mary’s Vaccination Hub is getting ready to open its doors to the public tomorrow (Tuesday) as the COVID-19 spring vaccination programme begins.
The hub is offering COVID-19 vaccinations to adults over 75 years and to those aged over 18 years with severe immunosuppression.
There are several ways to get a spring vaccination. Many people will be invited for an appointment, but if you are eligible, you don’t need to wait to be invited. St Mary’s Vaccination Hub offers a walk-in service, or you can book using the National Booking System, by calling 119, or using the NHS App, until 17th June. If you use the walk-in service, you may experience a wait.
The vaccination hub will be open from:
Tuesday 1st April to Thursday 17th April, on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 08:30 to 17:00
Tuesday 22nd April to Thursday 1st May, on a Tuesday and Thursday, 08:30 to 12:30.
Sue Lightfoot, Clinical Lead, Hospital Vaccination Centre, said:
“COVID-19 is more serious in older people and in people with certain underlying health conditions and levels of protection may decline over time. Booster doses are offered to help you maintain strong protection from becoming seriously ill or needing to go to the hospital if you catch COVID-19.
“We are looking forward to welcoming our Island community back to the Vaccination Hub at St Mary’s this spring. We will also soon be offering roving clinics that we will be running at various community venues around the Island.”

If you are not sure if you have a condition that means you’re eligible for the vaccination, or you need help with booking an appointment, the NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight COVID Vaccination Helpline team will be able to help via 0300 561 0018.
Odd how the medical profession still pawns the covid jabs as acceptable. There is no proof that the jabs work or help but there is proof the jabs have many bad effects. Also the term vaccination is deceptive and the covid jabs does not provide immunity or prevention it only maybe and possible lessens the symptoms when a person gets covid. The medical profession is driven off of social pressures for political reasons to push the covid jabs and should be treated as such. Ask your doctor what the side effects are but be warned that most doctors just do what they are told not what is real so the side effects can cause more issues

Not strictly true. Many businesses/establishments are stipulating that people working for them have to have this dangerous jab. And Starmer has already talked about mandating if there is another scamdemic.

There was plenty of proof across all three phases of the trials. In the end the vaccines were produced which have efficacy of between 67 and 95% across 4 different vaccines and different age cohorts. That is, for every one hundred people vaccinated, between 67 and 95 would not get covid. This is as opposed to the 60-70% of people who were expected to get covid if no vaccination. Of those, it was expected that up to a third of them would die, roughly 20% of the population. Or up to 14 million people in the UK. Same trajectory based on every quantifiable pandemic to date. Vaccination is a personal choice of potential side effects against potential deaths, a calculated personal risk based on co-morbidity, age and yes, fear. Those who want it, have it, those who don’t, don’t. Personally I never have, but would never deny or criticise any person’s right to choose. Lastly, most doctors are neither virologists nor big pharma salesmen, and neither are the politicians who have to respond to public emergencies under the guidance of experts.
Whilst I understand your point, these boosters are only being offered to people over 75 of people who are especially vulnerable due to immuno-suppression and who might therefore be more likely to die in the event of contracting Covid. I have had these jabs all the way through even though I am now only 62 because I have a condition which compromises my immune system. I worked in a public facing job throughout the pandemic looking after others and enabling them to shield as they were more vulnerable than me. I had the jabs and followed the social distancing. I did not ontract Covid at all until 2024 and then only very mildly. I have reason to believe that my heart condition may have been affected by the vaccination but I am much more certain that without the jabs I would have contracted Covid and far more seriously, possibly threatening my life. These things are all a balance and for me the greater good was served by being vaccinated. Each person should be able to make their own decision without pressure from others.

actually it as nearly 12 months.. (the virus first appeared in Europe in late Feb,.. the first vaccine wasn’t available until Mid December)

Yes, I know and accept that there are some side effects (that are experiened by a small minorty of people who have the vaccine), but the same is true of every ‘drug’.
I also understand, that statistically, the covid vaccines are benificial.
There will, of course, be cases where side effects are more detrimental that the specific benifit of the vaccine, but these are in a statistical minority…
